Day 3 – 181.6 lbs – Carnivore

Well, up about a pound, but I expected that. After a day of fasting, I think it’s expected that the number on the scale will go down more than normal, but then when you eat the next day, weight will go up a bit. In my life, I typically do not regularly weigh myself. The number on the scale can affect your mood for the day or even convince you to quit whatever diet you are on because it doesn’t seem to be working. But the number on the scale is just a tool to see where I am at, and I am looking at it just like that.
I am weighing myself daily while on the eating plan I have made for myself leading up to our Mexico trip. That way I have a real picture at the end of how each day affected me, but I can totally look at it objectively right now. In the past the number used to bother me, and maybe its age, but I don’t really care what the number is. It is just one tool of many that I am using to measure my health.
I also plan to measure my waist regularly, because even though I do carry my weight everywhere, my waist bothers me the most, because love handles and belly fat are hard to “dress”, and still look nice. In my opinion anyways.
Today I am home the entire day. My goal is to eat clean carnivore…Beef, Butter, Bacon, and eggs. As I write this, I am having coffee, which is my breakfast….and I am having it with butter and MCT oil mixed in. I typically like my coffee black, but I will mix in butter and MCT oil on occasion just to add some good fat and brain food.
I will see how the day goes and update later!
Outcome:
Well, bacon and eggs for lunch went well. I didn’t snack on anything else until supper, and I was really looking forward to steak for supper. I cooked it perfectly, which happens rarely.
I sat down to eat and and had 2 bites of delicious steak when my issues rose again.
Years ago I started having issues with feeling like food gets stuck in my esophagus. I can breathe fine, but I start burping and throwing up and sometimes it goes away in a few minutes, and other times it lasts for hours. I had a scope done, and they said I had Eosinophilic Esophagistis.
Basically it’s a food allergy, but there aren’t any specific tests that can tell me what it is that I am allergic to. I was told to do a food elimination diet, and I tried a few times, but never really followed through. The problem is it doesn’t happen when I eat the food, it shows up hours later, so I haven’t really figured out what it is that is causing the reaction.
Tonight it’s been pretty bad. It’s been almost 3 hours of burping and throwing up. I can’t even drink tea and keep it down. It really doesn’t make it past my esophagus.
Since my diet has been really clean the last 3 days, I am thinking eggs are a culprit. I will probably try them again after a day or two of fasting to see if I react again.
All I am saying is….chips never give me a reaction…LOL
