Day 5 – 179 lbs – Waist 42.5″ – Keto

To be completely honest, I expected a bit more of a drop in weight today. Considering my last real meal was well over 36 hours ago…but again, it’s not about the scale and I am happy to have made the progress I have so far.
Today is our last family gathering for the holidays…a little after Christmas, but before everyone goes back to work and their everyday lives.
In my 30 day plan, today is a Keto day because of this gathering. There is a little more variety in the things I can eat, which makes it easier when we are doing a potluck appetizer! BUT – when I was making the plan, I was thinking all the yummy cheese dips from Costco, charcuterie with lots of different cheeses…etc. Now that I have decided to cut out all the potential instigators of my EoE, dairy is off the list. So I need to rethink my contributions to the potluck…
Outcome:
I ended up bringing tortilla chips made with corn flour, homemade guacamole (which turned out delicious), hummus and cucumbers to the potluck. I tried to eat some meat earlier today, and it still got a little stuck so my esophagus must still be narrowed a bit. So I avoided meat, and ate cucumbers, hummus and the chips and guac. Obviously, hummus and the chips were not on my keto plan today…but I enjoyed them and then dealt with the bloating they gave me..lol.
The next 2 days are fasting days. It is my first time trying 2 days in a row of fasting, but when I was planning my month, I knew today might be a day that I ate extra, and so I planned it to give my body a rest after a larger eating day.
