Day 4 – 179 lbs – Fasting

Well…today was a planned fasting day, but even if it wasn’t, I would be fasting today. Last night was the worst reaction I have ever had with my EoE. (Eosinophilic Esophagitis). I have sometimes had a few hours of burping and throwing up, food getting stuck in my esophagus…but last night I was up until 2 am throwing up, and then finally fell asleep for a few hours.
When I woke up, it started again! It was so terrible. Finally, I prayed for God to make it stop, and it did. I don’t know why I always wait to pray! The last few days I really haven’t spent a lot of time in prayer or bible reading, and that bothers me because this whole journey of being more disciplined in what I eat and what I drink was supposed to be a spiritual journey as well. And yet, I have been treating it as an after thought.
As I write this, it is 9:30 am and I am finally keeping down some water with electrolytes. I am so thankful I can keep that down and that my esophagus spasms have calmed down. From this day forward, I will be eliminating eggs and dairy from my diet as well. I love both and I planned for them to be a part of my carnivore and keto days….cheese, creamy dips….I will miss them for sure, but what I went through last night is far worse then having to not eat dairy or eggs!
Outcome
Today went ok. We were busy most of the day, so it was easy to fast and drink water. We went out this evening and everyone was having beer and tacos, but it wasn’t super hard to say no to that just because of how terrible last night was.
I was pretty hungry when I got home, but soothed myself with a tea, and felt better.
Thank you God for stopping the vomiting and pain this morning, and for keeping me strong through the day and when there were delicious tacos and beer readily available. Thank you for bringing me through 4 days and I pray that you will continue to help me break the habits of over eating and drinking regularly. And I also pray that I will figure out what I am allergic to so I know what I can safely eat!!
